After what feels like ages of waiting, WoW Dragonflight 10.1 is finally upon us. It is an update that’s supposed to solve many of Dragonflight’s release issues, and I, for one, that is the case considering one of my major problems was related to how Mythic Plus eclipsed raiding. Regardless, the servers are currently down for maintenance and won’t be up any time soon. How long will it take? Let’s find out.

How long will the WoW Dragonflight servers be down for maintenance?

According to Blizzard’s launcher, the 10.1 serve maintenance began around7:00am PDTand is not scheduled to come back online until3:00pm PDT.This equates to abouteight hoursof total downtime. For an update, this is a bit longer than usual, but in my experience, the longer the maintenance, the fewer problems that occur after it. There are quite a few new systems being added in 10.1, so I imagine that is part of the reason for the longer-than-normal maintenance. However, if Blizzard can get it right the first time, I’m all for it.

What is new in WoW Dragonflight 10.1?

Beyond that, the typical additions relating to a new update and/or season:

The newest feature being added is the upgrade overhaul. Prior to this update, upgrading gear was a choredue to all the different activities and objectives you had to complete depending on the type of gear in question. However, this new upgrade system promises to centralize everything into one place. Whether it’s Raid or Mythic Plus gear, the new upgrade system will allow you to equally upgrade them both.
