There is a lot that happens in The Forest, which takes place chronologically before Sons of the Forest. In The Forest, you play as Eric, a man whosurvives a plane crash on a remote island. You’re tasked with helping Eric survive and avoid/fight off threats whilemaintaining his sanity. There aren’t a lot of set quests in the game, so you focus on survival and eventually hard decisions made through human sacrifice. In The Forest, there aretwo different endingsthat can be achieved. Neither ending has any bearing on how the plot of Sons of the Forest plays out.
