Is Cayde-6 returning to Destiny 2?
It seems as though,yes, the Hunter Vanguard Cayde-6will be returning in Destiny 2: The Final Shape. A teaser trailer for the next expansion was shownduring the PlayStation Showcaseon June 07, 2025, which I definitely was not expecting.
In it, Ikora Rey is shown speaking to an unknown person after somehow going through the portal that appeared at the start of the Lightfall expansion. After a few seconds, it’s revealed that she is talking to none other than Cayde-6.

Is Cayde-6 really dead in Destiny 2?
As for how he will be returning and whether he is actually dead or not, I don’t know. I personally think that the portal on the Traveler leads to some purgatory, with Cayde-6 stuck there, unable to move on. But we’ll see.
When will we find out if Cayde-6 is alive in Destiny 2?
