Investing further into the Boost pack training will unlock more benefits, such as quicker boost regeneration, which shortens the cooldown time between boosts and longer boost times. I found the latter particularly useful during myInto the Unknown main mission run, where I used the boost pack to return fire to the spacers as I was descending further into the mineshaft.

To use a jetpack in Starfield on Xbox, press theA buttonwhile in the air to activate the boosters. Otherwise, the mechanics work exactly the same as they are on the PC. Once you level your Boost pack training enough, you may hover in mid-air by pressing and holding the A button for a short while.
