It never occurred to me how perfect Photo Mode would be in Dredge until Black Salt Games added it in Update 2. I immediately dusted off the old trawler and jumped back in the game, only to become confused as to how to use it. Turns out, Photo Mode must be unlocked in Dredge, and I am here to tell you just how to do that.

How to get Photo Mode in Dredge

Photo Mode is included in Update 2 for Dredge, but you’ll first need to unlock it. It is not a simple mode to toggle in the menus, but rather anitemyou must get. To unlock Photo Mode, you need toget the Camera from the Photographer.

Go to the Photographer’s Camp on an island south of the Marrow. She will give you a task and mark a location on your map. I’ve marked the Photographer’s Camp with the yellow circle and the location of her lenses with a star in the image below.

Retrieve the lenses and return them to the Photographer. She will then give you the camera, allowing you to access photo mode and take photos. Now you just need to know how to use Photo Mode.

How to use Photo Mode in Dredge

Using Photo Mode is as easy as pressing a button or two. You’ll need toopen the action wheelandselect the camera. Then you mustpress the item button, Y on Switch, to pull out the camera and enter Photo Mode.

Photo Mode is perfect for capturing images of your favorite scenes and creatures, especially with the addition of Passive Mode. You canturn Passive Mode onto give yourself plenty of time to capture aberrations and more without fear of dying while trying to get the perfect shot.
