Ryoma starts off Chapter 2 of Like a Dragon: Ishin in a new city called Kyo. There are a few events that must be approached to be able to move on with the story. In the beginning, these events can’t be skipped, but later on, Ryoma will have to find the right locations to progress. This is how to get through Chapter 2 of Like a Dragon Ishin and where Ryoma has to go to trigger the objectives.
Chapter 2 Walkthrough of Like a Dragon Ishin
At the start of the Chapter, Ryoma, now going by Saito Hajime, exits his room and has to head downstairs. From there, a few cutscenes play out, as well as a tutorial on howVirtueworks. From there, severalSubstoriesandFriendshipscan be found. There are a total ofnine Substoriesthat can be found and completed within the Chapter.
Northof the market area near the gates is the next main story trigger that has Ryoma escaping the Shinsengumi. Running along the left side of the market and quietly tailing the swordsman until reaching the pink destination is the easiest way through. From there, players can either explore more or head back to the inn and enter Ryoma’s room to sleep until nightfall. This is also where players canredeem their DLC, such as the Deluxe Edition rewards.

After this point, everything is pretty straightforward and just requires going to the pink marker on the map. It might be wise to buy some medicine before entering thebathhousefrom the General Store, but once that part of the story is over, Ryoma will have to return to the inn again. The boss fight can be tough, but dodging the windup attacks and delivering short but strong combos will make it simple. Whenever players are ready to depart to Mukurogai, they can simply speak to the boatman in the inn.
After reaching the pink marker again, players will fight Izo and his men. The fight is much easier due to players having their weapons again and can be cheesed by using either Style with the gun. Behind Izo is the next destination, and the end of Chapter 2.
