The Pokémon series features hundreds of Pokémon to encounter, catch, and evolve. Over the years, The Pokémon Company has added many methods to evolve Pokémon, but one that has been around since Pokémon Red and Blue is the Moon Stone. This may leave you wondering where to get a Moon Stone in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Where to get Moon Stones in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Unlike the other evolutionary stones, you cannot purchase Moon Stones from the Delibird Presents stores. Instead, you will need to find them in the wild in Paldea and Kitakami (for the DLC region). Fortunately, I have an “easy,” if somewhat time-consuming, method to get Moon Stones in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Head toAsado Desertand look for thegold glimmers. You can pick up these items by pressingAover them. You will primarily get Soft Sands and other items, but you can get Moon Stones. It may take a while, but this is an easy way to get a Moon Stone.

Fortunately, you really only need two Moon Stones as there are onlytwo Pokémonin Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that evolve with a Moon Stone. This is the Fairy and Normal-typeJigglypuffand the pure Fairy-type Clefairy. Using a Moon Stone is the only way to get Jigglypuff to evolve into Wigglytuff and Clefairy into Clefable. You can only capture Clefairy if you bought at least one of the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLCs, the Teal Mask.
