Extra loot is never a bad thing. With Defiant Keys, you’re able to make the most of your Battlegrounds grind by receiving bonus rewards at the end of the activity. If you already plan on completing this seasonal activity, there’s no reason to turn down free loot. Where do you get Defiant Keys in Destiny 2?
Season of Defiance pass
On tiers two, 52, and 92, you can claim a Defiant Key if you own the Season of Defiance pass. This is a nice passive way to gain Defiant Keys, but since the rewards are placed far apart on the pass, it is not the fastest way to farm these items. Unfortunately, there are no Defiant Key rewards on the free tiers, although there are other free ways to obtain them.

War Table rank rewards
Once you reach reputation ranks seven and 13, you will receive one Defiant Key each. to increase your reputation, you must complete Defiant Battleground activities. Similar to the Season Pass method, this is not the quickest way to obtain Defiant Keys, although it is a helpful passive source.
Queensguard’s Arsenal War Table upgrade
With the Queensguard’s ArsenalWar Table upgrade, you gain a small chance to earn a Defiant Key whenever you focus Season of Defiance weapons and armor. This is an excellent way to complete your seasonal collection, while earning bonus Defiant Keys in the process. If you’re looking to farm Defiant Keys, this should be one of the first War Table upgrades you unlock.
