The Modern Axe is a significantly better weapon than the Tactical Axe in Sons of the Forest. The Crafted Club can hold players off for a while, but the Modern Axe is a much better option for dealing with some of the more dangerous enemies in the game. There’s nothing stopping players from getting it early, making it a lot easier to chop trees and deal with creatures. This can be found close to one of the purple icons, but if that is already gone, players can find it by going straight from the starting point at the beach, trying to reach the first cave by the snowy mountain. Where to find the Modern Axe in Sons of the Forest
The Modern Axe can be found at an abandoned camp not far from the start of Sons of the Forest. If players have yet to get the Flashlight and GPS Locator from the nearestpurple icon, then it might be harder to navigate there. Players can start heading in the direction of the first point, or in the direction of thecave entranceby the mountain. When looking at the GPS usingM, it can be further zoomed out by clicking theMiddle Mouse Button. This will make it a lot easier to stay going in the same direction.

ThePistolcan also be found relatively early and isn’t too far from the location of the Modern Axe. Looking at the map, players should try to look at the dirt paths. The camp is in a clearing where dirt paths are cut off.
