I could spend hours decorating my house, especially with all the amazing Disney-themed furniture and decor that you get as you play, but sometimes I find it hard to match the items together cohesively the way I like. With the new Furniture Customization, I can now design it just the way I like it to fit in with my aesthetic, and here’s how you can get started as well!
How to design furniture in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To start designing your furniture, open your Inventory withYon Xbox and Switch,Triangleon PlayStation, orIon PC, and navigate to theFurnituremenu. The first option you have now in the Furniture menu is toCustomize. Just likedesigning your own clothes, you can now open up the customization menu for furniture.
You’ll find a few options of furniture you can design already in the Customization menu once you pressAdd New. Just like clothes, they will need basic items without designs or intricate patterns on them already. All items that are customizable will have apaintbrush iconon the top left. You can purchase some more from Scrooge’s shop as they become available or craft them at your Crafting Table.
To get started with your design, select the furniture item that you want to use. Then, just like when designing clothes, you can begin placing motifs and arranging them how you like. With furniture, you will notice you can also change theMaterialof the item as well as the glossiness and metal. Play around with it and make it look how you like; there are so many options!

How to Place Your Furniture Designs in Your House
Once you finish a design, save and quit out of the design menu, and it will bring you back to the Customize menu. Here you will see all your completed designs, which you’re able to edit again whenever you like. This is also how you can place them in your house. Select the item and drag it down where you’d like it in your home.
Keep in mind, however, that you’re able to only place it per item you have available. If you want to put two chairs with the same design, you’ll need to head to your Crafting Table and craft another Basic Chair, and it will allow you to place it just like the first one. You can do this with however many you’d like.
Now you can make your own furniture, perfectly matching whatever aesthetic you want for your house, so no more mismatching themes. There are so many design options, so keep getting creative and trying new things!
