Proof of Guilt is one of three court quests you may take in Timberain. This one is about a thief about to get away with his crime—which he’s very much guilty of. Here’s where to find proof in Octopath Traveler 2.

All the answers lie in Timberain. First,glean information from this manin the photo below to learn about the location of the stolen item. Osvald and Temenos are your men for the job, as we doubt you’ll be at a high enough level for an Inquiry. You’ll find said the stolen Azure Sun Sword tucked away between a house and the local inn.

Bring the items to Meylan and watch justice get served. You’ll get a lot of compensation for your troubles.

Meylan will disappear for a while after this. But you can check Timberain in a couple of hours again to see if they’re holding another trial. The other two quests he can give you are called Proof of Innocence and Proof of Justice. They need other Path Actions to be completed. If you’re strong enough to reach Timberain, this may also be your chance to tryTourney Championin Montwise if you haven’t done it yet.
