Path Actions are big part of Octopath Traveler 2’s gameplay, and eachcharacterhas double the Path Actions in this second installment of the franchise. The Path Actions available to each character changes with the time of day. If you don’t want to let the game sit for minutes waiting for the sun to come up and down, here’s how to change time of day in Octopath Traveler 2.

How to change the time from day to night in Octopath Traveler 2

If you missed the tutorial, know that you’re able to instantly change the time of day in Octopath Traveler 2 by pressingR2,ZR, orF9—depending on the platform you’re playing it on. If you customized your PC keys, it may be different on your keyboard.

Aside from Path Actions, know that time of day also affects the NPCs you may interact with. So buying or stealing some items, as well as quest objectives can only be done in a particular time. We recommend changing the time of day even as you run between towns, so you don’t miss any side quests.
