The enemies you fight in Hogwarts Legacy all have unique weaknesses. Setting up one Spell Wheel to counter the type of enemy you are fighting can make a huge difference. It will prevent you from having to juggle with your arrow pad while fighting. Don’t forget about your Ancient Magic while you are fighting either. Best Spell Loadout for Dugbogs
For Dugbogs, we recommend that you useLevioso,Flipendo,Diffendo, and any another damage spell of your choice. These three spells will allow you to take advantage of their natural weaknesses toflip a dug bogon it’s back orslice it while it is danglingby it’s tongue.
Best Spell Loadout for Ashwinders
Most Ashwinders can produce a variety of Protego shields, so you’ll need a variety Spell Wheel to counteract that. We recommendDiffendo,Arresto Momentum,Depulso, andIncendioorConfingoas your final spell. Having the first three will allow you to counter powerful Ashwinders like the Assassin or the Executioner. Poacher enemies produce specific Dueling Feats that you can achieve likefreezing a Poacher Stalkerorslowing a Poacherafter they release their Blast Attack. We recommend bringingGlacius,Expelliarmus,Arresto Momentum, andTransformation. The last spell in particular is important when fighting Poacher Animagi. It will allow you to revert them back to human form instantly.
Best Spell Loadout for Loyalists
Loyalists have been harvesting Ancient Magic for themselves, and they will use it against you. UseExpelliarmus,Descendo,Arresto Momentum, andBombarda. This will allow you toslam a leaping Loyalist to the groundorslow a Loyalist Assassin. Don’t forget to use your Ancient Magic Throw tosteal a Loyalist Ranger’s crossbow boltwhen you have the chance.
Best Spell Loadout for Inferi
Inferi are a bit basic in nature. Going with a full damage Spell Wheel loadout ofIncendio,Confringo,Diffendo, andBombardawill clean them up quickly. That last spell is particularly important. It won’t set Inferi on fire, but it will cause massive damage to an attacking Inferius, so long as it is already burning.

For spiders we recommend usingDescendo,Flipendo,Levioso, andConfingo. These spells will help you to set fire to Scurriours and Shooters when you need to, as well asbury an Acromantula’shead into the ground before it can attack you.

Most of these knightly soldiers can be easily disarmed withExpelliarmus. If you have the talent, you may also be able to use your Ancient Magic Throw to thrust disarmed weapons back at them. When you are fighting aPensive Guardian, be sure to have at least one damage, control, and force spell on your Spell Wheel, to be able to counter the orb attacks they produce.
Best Spell Loadout for Trolls
Other than having to pay close attention to when you need to dodge and shield, havingFlipendoequipped to your Spell Wheel, as well as damage spells likeBombarda,Confringo, andDiffendowill help you tackleTrolls. These spells will allow you to power through their meaty health bars as quickly as possible. It will also allow you toflip a Troll’s club into its facewith good timing.
Best Spell Loadout for Mongrels
Mongrels are fairly basic enemies and will respond to a wide variety of spells. The most important one to have on your Spell Wheel isDepulso, which will allow you tointerrupt them while they are charging. The other three spells you want to bring are up to you.
