The Genshin Impact Secret Summer Paradise event runs fromJuly 5,2023,to August 16,2023, bringing with it a limited-time area called the Veluriyam Mirage. During the event, you’re able to participate in a plethora of Attractions, including the Sojourns of the Barking Fox—a game where you must control the Barking Fox and take it across four obstacle courses across the Veluriyam Mirage. If you’re having trouble completing the stages, here are some tips to help you out.
How to unlock the Sojourns of the Barking Fox mini-game in Genshin Impact
After unlocking the event, complete the first Summer Serendipity Chapter called Secret Summer Paradise: Part I - An Invitation From Afar! Doing so will unlock theAttractionssection of the event menu, where you may participate in a plethora of mini-games within the Veluriyam Mirage. You’ll also receive a separate Event Quest to initiate each mini-game.
Complete the Event Quest calledThe Phantom Toy Master and the Barking Foxto unlock the Sojourns of the Barking Fox mini-game, marked by special icons all around the Veluriyam Mirage.

How to play Sojourns of the Barking Fox in the Genshin Impact Secret Summer Paradise event
You can find the location of the Sojourns of the Barking Fox mini-games by looking for the Barking Fox icons in the World Map. Keep in mind that the fourth Challenge will only unlock after completing the “Dreams and First Encounters!” quest. Interact with the dedicated Time-Trial Challenge in each area to begin.
The controls for the Barking Fox are identical toSorush, so it will feel familiar if you’ve played through the Girdle of the Sands questline. Otherwise, refer to the bottom right of your screen for the exact controls, which differ for device. For PC, it’s as follows:
Your goal is to complete the obstacle course by collecting as many Adventure Coins as possible within the time limit. They don’t look like the usual Adventure Coins from previous events—these look more like yellow Primogems, as pictured above.
As you’re flying through the course, try to avoid the Sleetdross Fruits (brown blobs) and Disruptor Orbs (blue Hydro slices), as being hit by these will reduce your timer by 10 seconds. The brown blobs are fairly easy to avoid, and I personally didn’t bother avoiding the Hydro slices as their aim is pretty bad. I tried intentionally getting in the way of the Hydro slices throughout one of the Challenges and was only hit once, so don’t be afraid of them!

The Challenge will only successfully complete if you manage to make it to the end of the obstacle course, marked by the usual indicator pictured above. To claim rewards, head to theevent menu, selectAttractions, and selectSojourns of the Barking Foxto claim rewards for your effort. You only need to score 3,000 points per stage to collect enough points to get all rewards.
