Varka is the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius and is one of the most influential figures in Monstadt, primarily known for his unparalleled strength. Despite being away on a long expedition, remnants of Varka’s influence can be seen across Genshin Impact’s story. He’s been mentioned plenty of times in story dialogue and voice lines, but leakers have finally uprooted information on his character design, as well as a possible timeline for his first appearance in the game.
In a messy stream of leaks propagated by the famous leaker group calledTeam China(first posted on Chinese forum NGA, but deleted immediately after), Varka is described to have a rough and powerful, wolf-life appearance with a strange Cryo Vision and a feather similar toMika’s on his left chest. His chest is particularly emphasized to be muscular and partially revealed. One of his eyes is allegedlycovered, most likely by an eyepatch, and his outfit is described to include a coat with a fluffy fur lining and cool chain accessories.
His color scheme isallegedly red and black. Leaker@77__oatfurther claims that Varka doesn’t look like an old man, and instead boasts a youthful and beardless appearance. Some claim that theprevious leak about a Fontaine malecould be referring to Varka instead, but there’s currently no way to reliably confirm any of this information.

It’s also unclear whether Varka will be released as a playable unit. However, his first in-game appearance will reportedly be onVersion 3.8, and he will allegedly be involved in Fontaine’s story alongside the Fatui Harbinger,Arlecchino. Many players speculate that Monstadt’s Dornman Port may be released alongside Varka’s reveal, but leaks are currently leaning toward this area being released at the same time as Fontaine. Meanwhile,Qiaoying Villagehas been speculated to be the entryway to Fontaine, but leakers believe that Dornman Port may come earlier.
