The Genshin Impact Archon Quest Chapter III: Act VI - Caribert tells of the chilling tale of a Khaenri’ahn named Eide and his quest to save his Hilichurlian son, Caribert. After completingFortune-Mocking Pedigree, you’ll automatically unlock the next segment called A Lamenter at Fate’s End. It involves following a Hilichurl to an Unknown Sanctuary, where a Sinner compels Eide into worship.
In this quest, you won’t be able to configure your party in the open world or access the World Map. Considerturning on quest navigationto make things easier for you.
How to enter the Unknown Sanctuary in A Lamenter at Fate’s End – Genshin Impact
As soon as the quest starts, glide down from the Statue of The Seven, and head toward the pathway under the arch, pictured above. Once there, follow the path until you reach the glowing spot, which will trigger a dialogue with Eide.
Keep following the path and watch the Hilichurl go through a barrier. Get close in order to trigger a glowing spot to appear in front of the barrier, which you must interact with to enter theUnknown Sanctuary.

Important: Party setup
Once inside the Unknown Sanctuary, climb the stairs and follow the path forward. You’ll unlock a Door of Resurrection, which you can interact with to change your party setup. You need acharacter that can break strong Cryo shieldsfor an upcoming battle. We recommend choosing a Pyro or Electro applicator.

Common Chest #1
After configuring your party, keep following the path forward to enter a wide room. Immediately turn your attention to the beautifulCommon Cheston the right. Loot it for rewards, thendefeatthe hoard of Hilichurls attacking you.
Common Chest #2
Once this room is clear, turn left to enter another room. Inside, climb the stairs to find a purple, galaxy-like portal. Go through the portal to enter it. Inside this glittering space, simply wait for the environment to change. When you’re transported into a new but similar-looking place, walk a few steps forward to trigger dialogue and a small cutscene.
After the cutscene, some Slimes will spawn around you.Defeatall of them to pave the way forward. You need to climb the stairs upward to find another purple, galaxy-like portal.
Don’t rush into the portal immediately—there’s aCommon Chestright in front of it! Loot the Chest, then enter the portal and wait for the environment to change.
Rune puzzle + Exquisite Chest
You’ll find yourself on a bridge. Follow the path forward and climb the stairs to find a door that’s slowly opening. Once it’s open, pass through and climb the massive staircase. At the top, you’ll find a group of Slimes guarding a rune. Defeat the Slimes to unlock the rune, thenpick it upto proceed.

Climb the stairs upward to find yourself at an intersection. Ignore the stairs on the left and right, and instead, look ahead to find another purple portal. Enter the portal and wait for the environment to change. You’ll find yourself inside a room with another rune.Pick it up—you should now have two runes circling around you. Then climb the stairs on the left and interact with themechanismto open a gate in the sky.
Turn backand cross through the same purple portal to return to the previous area.
As soon as you’re teleported back, climb the stairs on the right. You’ll spot anExquisite Chestin front of another purple portal. Loot the Chest, then enter the portal and wait for the environment to change. You’ll be teleported to a room where another rune is immediately in front of you.Pick up the rune, so there should be three floating around you at this point.
As soon as you pick up the third rune, the gate to its left will open. From there, glide downward and stand on the clearing circled in the image above. Wait for the three runes to embed onto the ground, forcing it to open.
Common Chest #3
Glide or plunge down the massive vertical tunnel to trigger a cutscene and dialogue with the Fortune Lector. You need to defeat him in battle. His HP is easy to reduce, but he will eventually create a strong Cryo shield. You need to break it using an Element that can React with Cryo, such as Electro, Pyro, or Hydro.
After defeating the Fortune Lector, dialogue with Eide will trigger. A door will slowly open up ahead. Enter the door and climb the stairs. Keep your eyes peeled as there’s aCommon Chestto the left of the top of the first staircase.
After looting the Chest, keep going forward until you reach the end of the bridge. Interact with themechanismto open the door. Inside, you’ll be met with a chilling cutscene of Eide’s conversion. Once that’s done, you’ll automatically be transported back to his home, where dialogue with a now coherent Caribert will continue.
This concludes A Lamenter at Fate’s End, unlocking the Wonders of the World Achievement calledThe Far Side of Fate. You’ll immediately unlock the final segment in this Archon Quest calledPortended Fate.
