Final Fantasy XIV has added to its ever increasing list of accolades with a win at the 2023 DICE Awards. FFXIV took home the award for Online Game of the Year at the 26th annual DICE Awards organized by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences.
The award was accepted and celebrated by the game’s director and producer Naoki Yoshida (known to fans as Yoshi P).Yoshi P expressedhis heartfelt thanks for the award, and commented that this milestone year for FFXIV, 10 years after the release of A Realm Reborn, would bring the game to even greater heights.
FFXIV had stiff competition in the category, beating out Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, EA SPORTS FIFA 23, MARVEL SNAP, and Rumbleverse for the win.
The win also marks another DICE Awards’ victory for Square Enix. The publisher and developer also won Role-Playing Game of the Year back-to-back again in 2021 withFinal Fantasy VII Remakeand in 2022 with Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. However, the company missed out on a nomination for that category this year.

Final Fantasy XIV’s laundry list of awards continues to grow. Now boasting over 200+, the game’sown websitecan’t keep up with all the accolades. This was the fourth time the game was nominated for a DICE award in four years, and its second victory.
