With five classes to choose from at the start of Diablo 4, there are some tough decisions you have to make. If you settled on the Druid, there are even more choices to make regarding how to level up. Here’s a look at a solid leveling build that should allow you to breeze through the process.

Best Druid Level 50 Build for Diablo 4

Druids can be a lot of things – werewolves, bears, casters – so there are a lot of routes to take. When it comes to leveling, you’ll want something that can take out bosses in dungeons as well as take on groups of enemies. In the early going, and perhaps through your entire leveling process until you swap over to the endgame, theTornado buildwill work out best for you. It can destroy mobs and dungeon bosses, even while solo, so it’s a powerful build.

Skill Points Progression

Tornadoes aren’t likely to be the first thing that comes to mind as a Druid, but it’s a surprisingly powerful playstyle, but it takes a while to get going. In the early going, you’ll want to put points into your builder ability, which is going to be Storm Strike for this, but it could be a Werewolf or Werebear ability if you’d like since it’s not going to be the main damage dealer here. When you can start using points on Tornado, focus on that right away. Here’s a look at a leveling guide.

Tornado is going to be the big damage dealer of the pack, and you’re going to want to use it on bosses and mobs whenever you can. For me, I found that Storm Strike gets the edge over Maul for the simple fact that it can immobilize enemies. Sorry, shapeshifting fans.

Passives explained

The passives chosen above are quite straightforward as they’ll help you dish out more damage whether that’s through an increase cost to your abilities, giving you higher critical hit chances, or making you tankier and thus making it so you can kill enemies more often than healing.

How to play Tornado Druid in Diablo 4

The Tornado Druid is a simple build that will see you spamming as many tornadoes as possible. Storm Strike is your builder ability, and once you have enough Spirit, spend it on Tornadoes. Rinse and repeat this method and just about nothing will stand in your way.

The Wolf companion will be an additional source of damage for you that doesn’t have to be micromanaged, so it’s just passive damage. Hurricane is an ability you’ll want to use on cooldown as it hurts enemies around you, and again, you don’t have to do anything but have it toggled on when you see it’s up. Trample is mostly used as a way to get around the map quicker, at least until youget your horse, but you can use it to do damage too. Earthen Bulwark is an ability used when you’re getting crushed by enemies, so use that to prevent an untimely death.

Tornado Druid rotation

The rotation is easy to learn, but it can become more difficult as you level up and add more abilities. Here’s a simple way to look at it.

If the rotation seems simple, it’s because it is. That doesn’t mean this build is a pushover because you should be able to level through the entire game using it, even on World Tier 2. What makes it nice is the rotation doesn’t change on AoE or single target fights. Getting a dungeon boss stuck against a pillar or a wall and pelting them with tornadoes doesn’t get old, and it’s very effective. The AoE damage is much more consistent that single target, so the bosses will be the toughest part of leveling, but it’s certainly manageable.

Best gear for leveling Tornado Druid

Leveling gear isn’t all that important, and you’re better off saving your upgrade materials for the end game. With that said, there are some nice pieces of gear you can come across to really improve your build.

TheShepherd’s Highland Handwraps Legendary Gloveswill give +2 to your Tornado, so you could have seven ranks in total, making it extremely strong. Other than that, just throw on Item Level upgrades for the most part until you start your endgame build.
