Revealed as part of the Xbox Games Showcase andStarfieldDirect at Summer Games Fest 2023, Clockwork Revolution is a steampunk RPG brought to you by inXile, the team behind Wasteland 3. Here’s what you need to know.
Clockwork Revolution release date
So far, there’s no concrete release date, and it’s tough to say if it’ll be here in 2023. The trailer said the game will be coming in due time. With not even a year is given for the release date, it would seemingly indicate it’s further out than players might expect. We suspect we’ll be playing Clockwork Revolution in early 2024.

What platforms will Clockwork Revolution be on?
Clockwork Revolution is confirmed to launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC. With this being an Xbox studio, a PlayStation launch is out of the question.
What is Clockwork Revolution?
Anybody hoping to play a steampunk RPG will feel at home with Clockwork Revolution. According to Brian Fargo, inXile’s studio head, it will be a first-person RPG that mixes time-bending combat with roleplaying elements. He says you’ll be able to make your own character from scratch. We also know that we’ll be able to make choices in the past through time travel that will, in turn, affect our present.
Time traveling will be a significant element in the game, but it’s still way too early to tell exactly how deep things go and what that’ll entail. The gameplay shown is in pre-alpha, so we’re likely quite a ways out from discovering more about what this offers.
