As we head into the spooky season, Bungie has decided to get into the spirit early. The team behind Destiny 2 has released a Lo-Fi Beats playlist to accompany its latest release, Season of the Witch.
With no prior announcement or even the slightest whiff of a hint in the latest TWID,Bungie premiered the video on YouTube. The video itself consists of 16 songs spanning the history of the Destiny franchise. While Guardians enjoy the music, they can watch their favorite Hive enthusiast, Eris Morn, while away the time. With pen in hand, a Hive worm by her side, and a few of the Drifter’s jade coins to keep her company, this former Hunter makes plans to take outXivu Arath.
Destiny 2 joins the Lo-Fi Beats pantheon
This is all very tongue-in-cheek and pays homage to the originalLofi Girl, whose own studying has been a companion to untold numbers of people. Otherwise, it is a nod and a wink to the current events of the game where players must defeat the Hive and redirect their essence into a newly transformed Hive version of Eris.
These tithes imbue Eris with the accumulated power via the Hive’s Sword Logic and circumvent the Hive God of War, Xivu Arath. It’s the first solid plan that’s come about on dealing with the latest threat, but makes me wonder why they didn’t think of this before needlessly killing offRasputin.
So, while Guardians go out and collect tithes for their Hive goth mommy, they can throw on this playlist to make culling Hive all the more enjoyable. After all, it’s not the first timeGuardians have put on “classical music” while going to work.
