To get the most out of every class in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll need a complete set of all the best possible gear, especially weapons. One of the many weapon types is the staff or quarterstaff; while none of them do much melee damage, they can have some powerful magic that makes carrying one well worth it.
Best Quarterstaves in Baldur’s Gate 3
There are three main classes that use quarterstaves in BG3:Sorcerer, Wizard, and Druid. However, any spellcaster can make use of them. These weapons can provide extra spells, stronger attacks, and even grant resistances to certain types of damage. There are more than 30 of them in BG3; here is a selection of my personal favorites.

Incandescent Staff
As long as Quartermaster Talli is still alive either at the Last Light Inn or in Moonrise Towers, you can purchase this staff from her inAct 2. Depending on Talli’s friendliness meter and the Charisma of the character interacting with her, the staff can cost anywhere from1300 to 1700 gold. It’s sort of the fire counterpart to the Mourning Frost, as it gives the wearer a boost to fire spells. It grants:
Caitiff Staff
This item is found in the Lower City of Baldur’s Gate in the shop called Devil’s Fee. It can be purchased for around 700 to 800 gold, and it’s a great one for Warlocks that can hold it.

Harper Sacredstriker
This Quarterstaff is only available for sale from Sorcerous Sundries in Lower City inside Baldur’s Gate. It’ll cost you around 800 gold and grants the wearerSpiritual Weaponat level 6 once per Long Rest. This spell is quite a powerful one; it brings a floating weapon into battle that can be used to trigger advantage, which can be helpful with characters likeAstarion, who will be able to use his sneak attacks for extra damage.
Staff of Interruption
This staff can only be found in Act 3 at Old Garlow’s Place. You have toHelp the Hag Survivors, after which you’ll receive it as a reward. The staff allows anyone who holds it to castCounterspellat level 5 once per Long Rest, which makes it pretty strong for any staff-wielding class.
Mourning Frost
Mourning Frost is one of only two Quarterstaves on this list that is available in Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3. This staff can be found in the Underdark, broken into three pieces. Once all three pieces are found and combined, you will have an amazing staff for any companion focusing on cold and ice spells. I like it forDruids, who have several ice spells at this point in the game.
Double-click on any one of the pieces to put the staff together. Once it’s in one piece, you’re able to equip it to receive:
Staff of Cherished Necromancy
This staffis amazing for any Wizard specializing in Necromancy spells. It can be found in the Lower City in Act 3, from an NPC namedMystic Carrion. This living zombie is located in the location called Philgrave’s Mansion, near the water.
The Spellsparkler
The Spellsparkler is only available for those who save Councilor Florrick from the burning building in Act 1. It grants the userElectric Veins(when the wielder deals damage with a spell or cantrip, they gain 2 Lightning Charges), which pairs up well with a lot of the Lightning Charge armor from Act 1.
Staff of Spellpower
For anyone looking to take down Rafael in his own home, the Staff of Spellpower is tucked away in theHouse of Hope. It’s a strong staff, granting its user the following:
Markoheshkir
This is probably my favorite weapon in the entirety of BG3; it works amazingly well for any spell caster class. It’s found in Ramazith’s Tower in Act 3 and grants:
