Larian Studios released a community post detailing many of the choices players have made throughout their journeys in Baldur’s Gate 3. I was curious to see how my choices stacked up, especially against other players. Fortunately, included in thecommunity postwere the most popular races chosen in Baldur’s Gate 3. Let’s take a look!
Most Chosen Races in Baldur’s Gate 3
Half-Elf, followed closely byHumanandElf, were the most popular choices for race in Baldur’s Gate 3. As someone playing a Half-Elf, I see the appeal of all three. What surprised me was Githyanki’s and Drow’s low spot on this list. Both races are not commonly playable in other Dungeons & Dragons games, so I expected them to be a popular choice in BG3.

Most Chosen Classes in Baldur’s Gate 3
I admit I was happy to seePaladinin the top spot for Baldur’s Gate 3’s most popular classes. Though I did feel a bit basic, seeing as I chose both Half-Elf and Paladin, the two most popular choices when creating a character. That said, I’ve had a blast with my Half-Elf Paladin Bard and just being a good boy throughout my playthrough.
What Race and Class should I pick in Baldur’s Gate 3?
Ultimately, this is up to you. I recommend avoiding statistics like this and creating the character you want to play. There areno wrong choiceswhen picking your race and class in Baldur’s Gate 3. If you are playing a combination or a less popular choice, don’t sweat it. The important thing is to have fun and love the character you are playing. If your starting class has lost its appeal, you’re able to alwaysrespec through Withers into another class.
