Baldur’s Gate 3 is a deep and immersive tactical RPG experience with an engaging storyline, complex character relationships, and deep combat mechanics. And of course, there are loads of shiny items for us to loot! Some of these (such as armor and weapons) have obvious uses, while others do not. As for ingots, read on for my BG3 Ingots guide to find out what they do and how to get them.

Where to find Ingots in Baldur’s Gate 3

Ingots can be foundin random chests and boxesacross the map and in dungeons, as wellon creatures, but they’re most commonly found intreasure chests. At the time of writing you may find three different types:Bronze Ingots, Silver Ingots, and Gold Ingots.

What to do with ingots in BG3

There isn’t currently a documented use for any type of ingot in the game. However, as Baldur’s Gate 3 is still evolving through patches and players are finding out all kinds of cool little tricks as we go, there could still be a use. Some players have speculated ingots will be usable to either make or improve equipment such asarmor, but this is unsubstantiated.

If you’re short of funds in Baldur’s Gate 3 and have some ingots in your camp or inventory, they are a good source of income from vendors, however.

If you’re not short of cash, there seems no harm in hoarding them just in case they come in useful later (I’ve certainly kept most of mine). Butif you ever need a cash injection, I’d suggest selling as many as you needto get theitemsthat will improve your party.
