Loadout
To eliminate Balteus, we are going for a tanky build with a Pulse Weapon and Gatting gun, as it dishes out quite a lot of damage.
Both of the weapons are pretty solid in terms of damage and will easily do the job. If you don’t haveBML-G1/P03VTC-08, swap it with something likeBML-G1/P20MLT-04in your Assembly. I highly recommend you use anything made by theTIAN-QIANGfor the armor set.
Attack Strategy
The best way to eliminate Balteus is by damaging and removing his pulse armor/shield. For this reason, we are equipping theHI-16: GU-Q1 Pulse Gunin your loadout. Pulse guns are effective against pulse shields as they deplete the armor bar quickly.
Also, maintain distance from Balteus and roam around the central part of the fighting arena. If you keep doing this, you can connect yourHI-16: GU-Q1 Pulse Gun shotswithout getting hit.
When the pulse gun is on cooldown, use theMG-014 LUDLOWGattling gun orHI-32: BU-TT/Asword to continue your barrage. Keep tracking the shield health of the aircraft, which is right above the health bar.
Once the shield is down, fill the stagger meter by further attacking and finally punishing by unloading everything at your disposal when he is immobile. Keep repeating this process of removing the bubble shield, building up the stagger bar, and unloading all weapons till the end of the fight.

Defense Strategy
For the entire duration of the fight, maintain distance from Balteus. Do not go near him in any scenario, or you will be severely injured by his AOE and missile-type attacks. Staying afar also helps you dodge Balteus attacks, as they tend to spread out when you stand near the middle of the map.
Though standing near the center will help you to evade AOE-type attacks, you must move and reposition to evade rocket barrages. So, hold down your directional key and useEvasive Aerial Maneuverwhen possible.
