Octopath Traveler 2 is perfectly completable without doing a lot of things, but that doesn’t mean these secrets don’t exist. Some of these secrets involve Altars you may stumble upon in your travels around Solistia. What are they for and where are they located? This guide will answer all your questions.
What are the Altars for in Octopath Traveler 2?
The Altars are hidden temples in Solistia that are dedicated to one of the eight gods the locals revere, such as Aelfric the Flamebringer. If you interact with the statue andhave the correct party memberwith you when you do, they will be granted an exclusive character skill called anEX Skill. The second one you get much, much later into the game, when you can swap out the maincharacterof your party.
Where are all the Altars located in Octopath Traveler 2
There are eight Altars in the game. Below, we’ll show you where each of them is located and how to get there. We’ve also listed the corresponding EX Skill you will get.
Dancer EX Skill - Altar of the Lady of Grace
The Altar of the Lady of Grace is located in the Leaflands, near Cropdale and Wellgrove. The fastest way to reach it is by teleporting to Wellgrove and walking to the Northern Welgrove Trail. The Altar is hidden behind some vines near the east exit.

Cleric EX Skill - Altar of the Flamebringer
The Altar of the Flamebringer is perhaps one of the easier ones to get to. It’s in the same place you can get the Cleric License, which is the church in Borderfall. The Altar is located behind this green door.
Merchant EX Skill - Altar of the Trader
Contrary to the Flamebringer, The Altar of the Trader is the trickiest to find. It’s located on the easternmost part of the Southern Crackridge Wilds. Past the long bridge in the areais a small cave with a treasure chestin it. There is asecret passage on its right wall.
Go into the cave and hug the right wall until your character slides down a slope. You will exit through another opening. Following the path to the right to reach the Altar.
Hunter EX Skill - Altar of the Huntress
The Altar of the Huntress is very easy to reach. Just teleport to Tropu’hopu and exit town. You should find this opening just a few steps south.

Scholar EX Skill - Altar of the Scholarking
The Altar of the Scholarking is also as accessible and easy to find as the former. Fast travel to Winterbloom and exit the town. In the Western Winterbloom Snows, walk on the frozen lake until you’re under the bridge. The Altar’s entrance is there.
Apothecary EX Skill - Altar of the Charitable
The Altar of the Charitable is located on Northern Conning Creek Coast. It’s the area with a ton of shallow water you can walk on. Just walk on the shallow water towards the east. The Altar’s entrance is very visible.
Thief EX Skill - Altar of the Prince of Thieves
To reach the Altar of the Prince of Thieves, teleport to Clockbank and exit town. Ride a boat on the very first pier you see. The Altar’s entrance is located where the lilypads are.
Warrior EX Skill - Altar of the Thunderblade
The Altar of the Thunderblade can be found in the Eastern Sai Sands, which you can reach from either Conning Creek or Sai. There is a very long path in the south portion of the area (near the left exit) that you can follow. It will lead you to the Altar.
